Sammy Ferrante (née Ross) founded Crossfade Illuminations (previously Crossfade Productions) in 2015 in Los Angeles.  After years of working in television and theater, Sammy expanded to New York City, where she continues to provide custom and creative lighting solutions.

 

Sammy’s designs span venues from coast to coast, including Center Theatre Group’s Kirk Douglas Theatre, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and The Public Theater, among many others.  Her live television experience includes Lighting Direction for CNN, Bloomberg News, and Yahoo Finance. 

 

Although Sammy hates scary movies, she loves designing scary lighting, such as her tenure at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights.  

Sammy always strives to find the right lighting for the job.  Each new show is an opportunity to create something unique, whether that’s lighting a special performance on stage or sculpting an immersive world.

 

Sammy is an alumni of Emerson College and a proud union member of IATSE USA 829.  

 

When not designing, Sammy enjoys being out in nature and making homemade fig jam, from her fig tree.
